I had a plan for our road trip down through Washington, Oregon, and California. Not only did I want to stop and try some restaurants, I also wanted to cook and enjoy products from local producers. As I planned the trip, I knew we would be doing a lot of stops by the road and ocean enjoying the views, perfect for some good charcuterie. I had followed Olympia Provisions for a while on social media and new I had to make the stop here. There are two locations, I choose the one right of the highway so it wouldn’t be much of a detour.
The idea was to stop for lunch, grab some charcuterie and head out. Of course we were too late for lunch and missed out on some great looking sandwiches. No worries though, we enjoyed a great charcuterie plate, a light salad, some beer and wine. Before leaving we purchased a bunch of charcuterie to take with us to enjoy on the rest of our trip.
First impressions when we pulled up…bit of a dodgy area. But that wasn’t going to stop me, I wanted meat! This place did not disappoint, as you opened the doors it was like walking into another world!
The charcuterie (and the salad) were so worth the stop. We purchased some rillette, salamis, and sausage for the road. We saw their products featured in many places in Oregon and California!
What impressed me the most is their commitment to small family farms and to humanely raised pork. I can’t wait till I can stop here again and support this great business! Handcrafted Meats & Charcuterie | Olympia Provisions
